October 22, 2026 · 1 source
NASA has six senior officials-including Artemis II launch director Charlie Blackwell-Thompson-speaking at the 2026 von Braun Symposium beginning Oct. 26. The three-day event runs Oct. 26-28 at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and focuses on humanity's return to the Moon. Panels will cover sustainable lunar infrastructure, Moon base supply-chain resilience, advanced space propulsion, and the evolving NASA workforce. Keynotes feature Deputy Associate Administrator Casey Swails, NASA Marshall director Stephen Cash, and Science Mission Directorate associate administrator Nicky Fox. Human Landing System program manager Steve Creech and Orion program acting manager Debbie Whitis Korth will also present. Media seeking interviews must contact Lance D. Davis or Joel Wallace, and registration is handled through the American Astronomical Society. NASA says the symposium will help chart a clear path for sustainable lunar operations and future deep-space missions.
