Judge Orders Trump Deposition by Dec 11
October 22, 2026 · 1 source
A Miami judge just gave Trump until Dec. 11 to sit for a deposition in his $10 billion BBC defamation case. U.S. Magistrate Judge Enjoliqué Lett warned that ignoring the order could see the suit tossed. Trump's lawyers had asked for a deposition window from Jan. 11 to Jan. 22, which the court rejected. The suit, filed Dec. 15, says the BBC's Panorama film "Trump: A Second Chance" edited a Jan. 6 speech. It alleges the cut makes it appear he explicitly urged supporters to attack the Capitol. The BBC chair apologized for the edit and promised the documentary will never air again. In a Nov. 13, 2025 statement, the broadcaster said it regrets the edit but still disputes any legal basis. If Trump still refuses to provide the requested records, his $10 billion claim could be thrown out.
