Cristiano Ronaldo Hands Back Portugal Number Seven Shirt

Forty-one-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo is officially walking away from the Portuguese national team after a twenty-three-year career. He made two hundred thirty-four appearances and scored one hundred forty-six goals for his country. Both numbers are world records for men's international football. And here is the catch. He announced this retirement in a social media video after walking out of the Portugal camp last month. That exit happened because coaches told him he would not start a Nations League match against Denmark. One source says he hands back the shirt now. Another source specifies he steps down after the November international break. He started this journey back in August two thousand three. Now he passes that famous number seven shirt to the future.
