VMware Extends European Low-End vSphere Support to 2028
November 5, 2026 · 1 source
VMware just announced it will keep selling and supporting low-end vSphere servers in Europe until 2028. That's three years longer than the standard roadmap. The extension covers the entry-level ESXi editions that many small-to-medium businesses rely on for on-prem workloads. It arrives as on-prem server sales for HPC and AI are climbing 20 percent this year. That shows demand for local compute isn't fading. The move is quietly rolled out, without a big press release. So many customers only learned about it through their account managers. VMware says the extra years give European users more time to plan migrations or upgrades without scrambling for new hardware. However, the longer support window applies only to the low-end tier, not the premium offerings. In short, European firms can now stretch their vSphere investments three more years before facing an upgrade deadline.
