Valve Leak Makes Cancelled Portal Prequel F-Stop Playable
November 1, 2026 · 1 source
A fully playable version of Valve's cancelled two thousand seven Portal prequel F-Stop just leaked online. Gabe Newell once loved the project, but playtesters hated it. Valve scrapped the game because testers were not thrilled. Some mechanics later made it into Portal two. The leak happened because thirteen terabytes of Steam depot data leaked in late August. That huge leak lacked the source code and map files. A leaker on Discord demanded one thousand dollars for the missing mapsrc data. They gave the files away for free instead. The Valve Cut Content team verified the map files. Fans combined all three leaked pieces into one playable game. Players report the build is ninety-nine percent complete.
