Scott Parker Appointed West Ham Head Coach on Two-And-A-Half-Year Deal
November 4, 2026 · 4 sources
Former midfielder Scott Parker has taken over as West Ham United head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract. He replaces Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked on Tuesday following a poor start to the Championship season. The forty-six-year-old inherits a squad currently sitting eighth in the table. Parker previously led Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley to promotion from the same division. He will take charge of his first match on Wednesday away at Cardiff City. Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville and Billy Lepine will assist him alongside sporting director Mark Noble. Interim chief executive Karim Virani confirmed Parker was the unanimous choice of the board. The club pulled in about one hundred fifty million pounds in summer transfer revenue after their relegation. They also spent twenty-two million pounds on midfielder Arne Engels from Celtic. Parker believes his past promotions prove he is the right man to lead the club back to the Premier League.
