AFC's 47-member confederation just flipped its stance, now backing Gianni Infantino for a fourth FIFA term. Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, who joined UEFA and CONCACAF in denouncing Infantino's stake sale, hugged him in Tokyo. After apologizing in Zurich for the $4.2 billion stake sale plan, Infantino vowed to learn from his mistakes. Infantino also announced a $25 million fund for members, up from the $1 million every four years he promised. With Asia's 46 votes and strong support from Africa and South America, Infantino could win the March election unopposed. The AFC president said most of the 47-member confederation will back Infantino, hoping to move forward together. He concluded, "As one Asian family, we're ready to move forward united in your support, Gianni."
