Nvidia's Huang Visits Kazakhstan AI Hub
October 23, 2026 · 1 source
Jensen Huang flew into Astana on Friday, announcing Kazakhstan could become Europe's new AI super-hub. He said Kazakhstan's abundant energy and a $10 billion cluster of 100,000 GPUs will power that hub. Nvidia plans to invest in the Firebird project, part of a 2-gigawatt AI expansion across Armenia, Kazakhstan and more. The visit also highlighted Higgsfield, a Kazakh-run AI video startup with 300 staff that raised $400 million at a $5.4 billion valuation. Huang told a fireside chat that "you invest in people, not companies," underscoring the human capital focus. Data Center Valley in Ekibastuz has 300 MW of power, with plans to grow to 1 GW, a spot for developers. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev already announced two Nvidia-powered supercomputing clusters in the country, a sign the plan is moving fast. Singapore's GK Hyperscale is investing $1.5 billion in two data-center modules, slated for 2026 construction and 2027 operation. The trip signals Kazakhstan's 2026 Year of Digitalization and AI hub ambition, with Nvidia giants to build it. Huang's visit underlines that even a country far from Silicon Valley can become a critical AI node.
