ADNOC Deploys OpenAI Frontier Platform to Manage Operations

ADNOC just signed a deal with OpenAI and G42 to become the world's first energy company using the OpenAI Frontier platform. Dr Sultan Al Jaber announced the partnership at the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi on Monday. The oil giant plans to use the technology to transform oilfield development and well management. OpenAI chief Sam Altman sat in the front row as guest of honor during the ceremony. Al Jaber stated that artificial intelligence must be built directly into the energy sector rather than bolted on. The new tech will build and manage autonomous agents to handle commercial operations and decision-making. Meanwhile, a new study from ADNOC, XRG, and Microsoft shows that ninety percent of energy leaders increased their AI spending over the past year. Sixty-three percent of those leaders expect financial returns to match or exceed their initial costs.
