Sunderland Sinks to Bottom of Premier League Despite San Siro Dream

Sunderland are rock bottom of the Premier League after nine games following a three-one defeat by Coventry City on Saturday. The club faces a dream trip to AC Milan in the Europa League on December tenth. Yet they have conceded seventeen goals already this season compared to just seven at this stage last term. Captain Granit Xhaka admitted the team is making far too many simple mistakes. Manager Regis le Bris pointed out that their busy schedule is exposing them badly. They have not won a league match since August thirtieth against Fulham. Now they sit at the foot of the table with six defeats and two draws. Their next domestic fixture is against Nottingham Forest just three days after the Milan match.
