Final Fantasy XIV Evercold Delayed to February 2027

October 31, 2026 · 2 sources

Square Enix just delayed the Final Fantasy XIV Evercold expansion by roughly a month to February 2027. Naoki Yoshida announced the change at the Tokyo Fan Festival due to quality concerns. The team was barely on track for the original January window. One report says the full launch lands on February 2. Another report puts the release date on February 23. Pre-orders open on Wednesday, November 4. Pre-ordering gives players early access starting on Friday, February 19. The expansion introduces new jobs like the Bastion and the Zephyr. It is the first major update since Dawntrail launched in July 2024. The delay lands the expansion into a packed release window. Tomb Raider, God of War, Persona 4, and Fable all drop within that same week.
