SpaceX Secures $40 B Debt for AI GPUs

October 26, 2026 · 1 source

SpaceX just closed a $40 billion debt deal to buy Nvidia GPUs, Elon Musk announced on X Sunday. The financing will flow in Q1 and Q2 2027, keeping debt off SpaceX's balance sheet via a special purpose vehicle. Goldman Sachs led talks with investors, including Apollo Global Management, to structure the deal. Musk said the company is investment-grade and already earns from Starlink and rocket launches. This move follows SpaceX's aggressive push into artificial intelligence, calling the unit "Super Intelligence." The AI segment is SpaceX's biggest revenue source, with Q3 earnings leaping ninefold to $7.56 billion from $813 million a year earlier. Musk warned that over 200 neocloud firms could collapse, leaving only a few survivors in the AI cloud market.
