Grok Releases Seven Minutes of AI-Made Odyssey
October 25, 2026 · 1 source
Three months after Elon Musk announced Grok would drop a full-length, historically accurate "Odyssey," the company released a seven-minute clip. Dubbed Episode 1 of its Odyssey series, the AI-generated footage is a collaboration with Wonder Studios and director Dev Walker. Musk's earlier critique of Christopher Nolan's 2024 film, praising its non-white and transgender actors, shows the stark contrast between projects. Nolan's version across six countries with thousands in crew sold out Imax showings in July and is poised for Oscars. The Grok clip feels airless. Its narrator's British accent and Musk-approved skin tones offer little emotional hook. Its voiceover drags on, stilted lines replace Shakespeare, and lack of momentum makes viewers check the clock instead of watching. With such a start, the prospect of a full AI-made movie seems more curiosity than commitment.
