Sensor Tower Claims GTA 6 Sold 7.71 Million Pre-Orders
November 4, 2026 · 1 source
Grand Theft Auto 6 has reportedly shifted nearly eight million copies before launch. That is according to data firm Sensor Tower. Those pre-orders rake in seven hundred fifty-one million dollars in revenue. Here is the catch. Roughly seventy-four percent of those sales are on PlayStation 5. Xbox trails far behind with just under two million copies sold. Sony's exclusive marketing campaign and cheaper base hardware clearly gave them a massive edge. To put that in perspective, Cyberpunk 2077 hit about eight million total pre-orders before its launch in twenty-twenty. This puts Rockstar right behind Resident Evil Requiem. That game sits at eight point five million sales as the second best-selling game of twenty-twenty-six in the U.S. so far. Piper Sandler predicts a staggering forty-five million sales during the actual launch window. Take-Two investors are waiting to see if it shatters every record.
