Samsung Galaxy Ring Gains FDA Approved Sleep Apnea Monitoring

November 3, 2026 · 1 source

Samsung just made the Galaxy Ring the first smart ring in the world with sleep apnea risk detection. Following its United States Food and Drug Administration clearance in July, the feature just picked up approval from Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on November third, twenty twenty-six. Here is the catch. You do not need to wear the ring for weeks to get useful data. The updated app needs just two nights of tracking within a ten-day period to spot significant breathing disruptions. The system uses an enhanced algorithm to analyze your vitals in much greater depth than before. Jongmin Choi at Samsung says this brings accessible innovation straight to everyday wearers. Users eighteen and older can now check for signs of moderate to severe conditions right from the Samsung Health Monitor app.
