October 22, 2026 · 1 source

Procter & Gamble posted a $2.00 adjusted earnings per share, topping the $1.88 analysts expected. The company also saw net sales climb 4% to $23.3 billion, beating the $22.8 billion forecast. Shares jumped about two percent in pre-market trading after the release. Fiscal first-quarter net income slipped to $4.73 billion, or $1.97 a share, from $4.75 billion a year ago. Excluding restructuring costs, adjusted earnings came in at exactly $2 per share. The outlook got a bump because P&G added vitamin maker Thorne on Oct. 1. For fiscal 2027, it now expects core earnings of $6.89-$7.11 per share. All-in sales growth is projected at 2%-4%, up from the prior 1%-3% range. That modest lift hinges on the Thorne deal delivering new health-care revenue.
