Liverpool Owner FSG Negotiates Majority Stake in Cadillac F1 Team

November 4, 2026 · 1 source

Fenway Sports Group is holding talks to buy a majority stake in the Cadillac Formula One team for more than two billion pounds. The deal is tied to Mark Walter, whose TWG Global is selling assets while facing federal investigations into alleged insurance fraud. TWG strongly denies any wrongdoing. Walter also recently sold his controlling interest in the Los Angeles Lakers and part of his stake in Chelsea. And here is the catch. Cadillac is currently sitting at the very bottom of the constructors championship in its debut season without a single point. FSG already sold thirty-eight percent of Liverpool this summer to a group including Jeff Bezos and Eduardo Saverin. That gives them an option for a full takeover before August twenty twenty seven. Walter values his Cadillac shareholding at about two billion two hundred forty million pounds. FSG already owns fifty percent of RFK Racing in Nascar. Liberty Media has doubled annual revenue to four billion dollars since twenty seventeen. FSG declined to comment on its investment plans.
