Kathleen Kennedy Takes Over LA28 Olympic Ceremonies

Former Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy just grabbed a massive new job running the opening and closing ceremonies for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She steps in with less than two years to go before the games kick off on July fourteen, 2028, at SoFi Stadium and the L.A. Memorial Coliseum. The part nobody is talking about is that Peter Rice just left that exact role to become Netflix's content chief. Rice will still keep a hand in the project by working as an executive producer on the opener and closer. LA28 chair Casey Wasserman called Kennedy a legend in a statement on Wednesday. Kennedy herself pointed out that these will be the first Olympics in the City of Angels since 1984. She will team up with creative director Ben Winston and executive producer Scott Givens to stage the huge event. Production will get support from FulFive, which is a new mix of Fulwell Entertainment and FiveCurrents. The Olympics run until July thirty, 2028, and the Paralympics follow in August.
