AMD FSR 4.1.2 Hits Xbox Ahead of GTA 6
November 5, 2026 · 1 source
AMD just slipped FSR 4.1.2 onto the six-year-old Xbox Series X, boosting it right before GTA 6 drops on Nov 19. The update adds two INT8 upscaling models - a Full version and a Lite version half the size. Lite costs less to run and cleans up visual noise at low resolutions, according to tests. Both models use the same memory, so the trade-off is purely performance. Developers can switch between them at runtime with AMD's new GDK sample. The Lite model is already on the ROG Xbox Ally X and X20 via an Asus preview driver. AMD says the feature upgrades DirectX 12 games with FSR 3.1 or newer. That could let older consoles squeeze out enough frames to enjoy Rockstar's big launch without a new box.
