Hamilton Stands Firm on Leclerc Criticism
November 5, 2026 · 1 source
Lewis Hamilton says he will never apologise for calling his Ferrari teammate a 'mentality' problem after Mexico Grand Prix clash. He blamed Charles Leclerc for the opening-lap incident at turn four. Leclerc went off, letting Max Verstappen take the victory and costing Ferrari a one-two. Hamilton, a seven-time champion who joined Ferrari in 2025, called the team's issues 'big, big problems'. He added the 29-year-old's mentality needs a 'do or die' shift. Before the São Paulo Grand Prix, he said he doesn't care what anyone thinks and will keep speaking his mind. Leclerc missed media duties that Thursday, attending the birth of his first child, so he has not replied yet. Ferrari still hasn't spoken to team principal Fred Vasseur about the feud. Hamilton says the squad must sort it before next season. Meanwhile Mercedes can clinch the constructors' title in Brazil if they outscore Ferrari by three points. They already secured the drivers' crown with Kimi Antonelli.
