FeedlyScript (“we”, “us”) operates feedlyscript.com, an automated service that turns news into social-media scripts. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account details — your email address and display name. If you sign in with a provider (e.g. Google), we receive the basic profile that sign-in returns (name, email, avatar).
- Content you create — the sources you add (URLs/links), your generated scripts, and your settings (tone, language, schedule, focus/avoid topics).
- Delivery details you choose to add — a Slack or Discord webhook URL, or an email address, only if you enable that delivery method.
- Technical data — a session/authentication cookie, your IP address, and basic request and error logs we keep briefly for security, abuse-prevention (rate limiting), and reliability.
How we use your information
- Operate the service — fetch your sources, detect trends, generate scripts, and deliver them where you asked.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Prevent abuse and protect the service (rate limiting, fraud/abuse detection).
- Diagnose errors and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Third-party services we rely on
To provide the service we share the minimum necessary data with these providers, each acting under their own terms and privacy policies:
- Groq (LLM provider) — headlines and article text from your sources are sent to the language model to detect trends and write scripts.
- Google — for optional “Sign in with Google”, and Google News as a public source of headlines.
- Slack / Discord — only if you configure a delivery webhook; we post your scripts to the channel you choose.
- Email / SMTP provider — only if you enable email delivery.
- Hosting & infrastructure — our servers and database, used to run the app and store your account and content.
Data retention
- Publicly shown platform scripts roll on a ~3-day window; after that the full content is removed and only a short title/summary may remain.
- Your own account, sources, and scripts are kept until you delete them.
- You can delete an individual script — or all of your scripts at once — from Settings at any time.
- Operational logs are rotated and purged automatically on a short schedule.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your sources, scripts, and settings at any time, delete your content, and turn off any delivery method. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and to object to certain processing. We honor these requests regardless of location — contact us and we’ll help.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure your session. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
We protect your data with measures such as encryption of stored secrets (e.g. webhook URLs) and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security — but we work to protect your information and limit what we keep.
Children
FeedlyScript is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
International users
FeedlyScript is available worldwide. Your data may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our infrastructure and service providers operate. By using the service you consent to this transfer and processing.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
