Xavier Becerra Wins California Governor Race

Xavier Becerra just shattered a one hundred fifty one year barrier by becoming the first ever elected Latino governor of California. The sixty eight year old Democrat easily beat Republican Steve Hilton on Tuesday night. Hilton struggled to shake off an endorsement from Donald Trump during the campaign. And here is the catch. Becerra barely led in the polls just months before the June primary. He only surged ahead after the original frontrunner dropped out of the race. Now, the former health secretary inherits a massive task. He has to push a one billion dollar film and TV tax credit across the finish line to stop Hollywood production from leaving the state.
