Waters' Peak Integration Cuts Lab Work by 95%
October 28, 2026 · 1 source
Waters just announced that its new Peak Integration AI can slash manual drug-testing steps by ninety-five percent. The feature rolls out today as an add-on to the Empower platform, which already serves half a million users. Peak Integration also boosts testing accuracy seventy-six percent and runs half as fast as the legacy workflow. Waters spent about one and a half years training the model with an undisclosed top-ten pharma partner. The AI tool targets the tedious review of hundreds of chromatograms that scientists normally sift through manually. Colangelo says the automation frees scientists to focus on insight rather than repetitive data-crunching. It follows Waters' February 2025 anomaly-detection AI and the AI Link bridge to Anthropic's Model Context Protocol launched two weeks ago. Leitham adds that eliminating manual steps also cuts result variability across experiments. The company hopes the speed and accuracy gains will help shrink the two-trillion-dollar, ten-year drug-approval timeline. As Colangelo puts it, this is 'unlocking more human potential in the scientists using the technology.'
