Russell Brand Trial Enters Final Stage as Prosecution Delivers Closing Arguments

October 30, 2026 · 4 sources

Russell Brand is facing seven charges at London's Southwark Crown Court involving six different women who do not know each other. Prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones KC delivered her closing speech on Friday. She told jurors the accusers have been haunted for years by what happened. Karmy-Jones argued that a two thousand twenty-three Channel 4 documentary was not a magic force causing women to reinvent their stories. She quoted an old Wendy Williams interview where Brand described his younger life as a playground of orgasms. The defense pointed out that Brand has no convictions except a cannabis fine from nineteen ninety-five. Brand denies all charges of rape, sexual assault, and attempted indecent assault. Judge Mr Justice Bennathan told the twelve jurors they must reach unanimous verdicts. Deliberations are expected to begin next Tuesday.
