Anthropic Flags Compromised Claude Code Extension

Somebody just tried to slip a malicious update into the Claude Code extension. Anthropic spotted the supply chain attack before it did any real damage. The malicious code was designed to hijack developer tools. Here is the catch because these third-party integrations are wide open. Hackers know developers trust these tools implicitly. They use them to push silent payloads straight into corporate networks. Anthropic managed to yank the bad extension down fast. But it shows how easy it is to poison the well. Developers download these packages every single day without checking who signed them. Next time you grab an extension, you might be letting the fox straight into the hen house.
