Netflix Buys Joel Coen Gothic Mystery Jack Of Spades For 2027

Netflix just bought the worldwide rights to Jack of Spades, a sinister gothic mystery directed by Joel Coen. It hits theaters in the fall of 2027 before dropping on the streamer. The script comes from a team including Joel and Ethan Coen, marking a major behind the scenes reunion. They wrote it with Eleanor Catton and Conor McPherson. The story is based on an 1901 novel by Frances Frederica Montrésor set in the Scottish Highlands. The stacked cast features Josh O'Connor alongside Damian Lewis and Lesley Manville. Cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel and composer Carter Burwell are also back. Netflix previously worked with the multi Oscar winning duo on The Ballad of Buster Scruggs back in 2018.
