My Chemical Romance Hits Billboard Number One With The Black Parade

Twenty years after its release, My Chemical Romance just hit number one on the Billboard 200 chart for the very first time. Their 2006 emo rock opera, The Black Parade, clinched the top slot thanks to a massive anniversary deluxe edition. That milestone reissue sold seventy-eight thousand equivalent album units across more than twenty formats and variants. The physical sales propelled the veteran rock band past Olivia Rodrigo and her album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So In Love. The pop star even cheered on the band on Instagram after attending their show at Citi Field earlier this year. Released back in October two thousand six, the seminal album originally debuted at number two on the charts. Now, the huge chart victory arrives right in the middle of the band's extended Long Live the Black Parade tour.
