Maggie's Cancer Care Centres Mark Thirty Years

October 29, 2026 · 1 source

Photographer Tabitha Jussa spent time inside Maggie's cancer care centres to mark thirty years of their work. These buildings give free practical, emotional, and social support to people facing cancer. Jussa used a large-format camera fixed in one spot to shoot everyday moments over the course of an hour. The resulting images layer multiple moments together into a single photograph. Other works in the exhibition include 35mm film developed in coffee and cyanotype prints made using foraged plants from the centre gardens. Each image explores thresholds, doorways, and the exact experience of arriving for help. The buildings themselves use calm, non-institutional architecture to communicate care and empathy. Visitors can simply walk in through the door.
