Macklemore's Free Palestine Tour Hits Dublin

Macklemore packed a sold-out 13,000-seat Dublin arena days after Ed Sheeran dropped him for chanting "Free Palestine." The Free Palestine Tour kicked off at the 3Arena on Oct. 26. Surprise guests included Hozier, Belfast hip-hop trio Kneecap and folk band Beoga, who left Sheeran's tour in solidarity. Palestinian singer Lina Makoul, Dead Prez's M-1 and DJ Habibeats also performed. Irish actor Liam Cunningham opened with a reminder that enjoying the night doesn't erase Gaza's suffering. Macklemore said he'd spent the week rallying artists who risk their platforms for Palestinian solidarity. Proceeds will flow to groups like Medical Aid for Palestinians, Palestinian Youth Movement, Heal Palestine and UNRWA USA. The tour moves to Paris on Oct. 29 and London on Oct. 30. Fans in Dublin wore keffiyehs, Irish flags and Kneecap merch, chanting "Free, free Palestine" throughout. Macklemore summed it up: "If you have a platform, you must use it."
