Mach9 just secured a $34 million Series A to flip its hardware business into AI‑driven CAD software. Founder Alex Baikovitz realized the real bottleneck wasn’t the laser scanners. The pain was turning raw scan data into usable surveys. The company dropped “Robotics” and now boasts almost 100 beta customers. Those users have already applied the AI tool on more than 2,500 projects. Mach9 claims its software makes CAD drafting ten times faster than legacy Autodesk or Bentley tools. It also slashes costs, letting engineers take on larger jobs and expand the reach of reality‑capture data. The startup trained its own AI models to deliver centimeter‑accurate geometry from multimodal image and laser scans. The $34 million will fund product upgrades, hiring of industry experts, and scaling the organization. Baikovitz says the AI cuts design time from months to about a week per mile, a true ten‑fold boost.
