Donald Trump Vows To Ban Term Artificial Intelligence
October 27, 2026 · 1 source
Donald Trump plans to officially ban the term artificial intelligence in all relevant documents and everything else. He posted his threat on Truth Social on Tuesday and called the current name very bad and inaccurate. His preferred term is super intelligence, and he already signed an executive order directing federal agencies to use it starting on September twenty-ninth. Figures like Nvidia boss Jensen Huang are already going along with the change. But the term AI has been around for decades, and the previous Trump White House even released an AI Action Plan last year. Media outlets keep using the old name, and the White House has a history of fighting over terminology. It previously banned the Associated Press from the pool over the Gulf of America name dispute, and a federal judge ruled that move likely violated the First Amendment.
