A24 Brings Elden Ring Fantasy Epic Adaptation to AFM

Elden Ring Movie $200M Budget Hits AFM

A24's $200 million Elden Ring film just landed at the American Film Market, the biggest budgeted project ever on sale. Amazon MGM already snapped up international pay-1 streaming rights, a deal worth tens of millions. The $175-$200 million budget eclipses the Hunger Games and even Mel Gibson's near-$200 million Resurrection Of The Christ split. Starring Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, and a crew that includes Jenny Beavan and David J Thompson. The 180-page script, rumored to push the film toward three hours, is kept secret to build intrigue. It's slated for March 2028, with a sequel looming if the movie succeeds. Industrial Light & Magic is handling visual effects, promising the epic battles will be cinematic. A24's gamble could set a new benchmark for film-to-game adaptations.
