Whiskey Myers' 'Broken Window Serenade' Cracks Spotify Top Ten

Nick Jonas' TikTok clip sent a 2011 Whiskey Myers ballad straight into Spotify's top ten. The song, "Broken Window Serenade," originally appeared on the band's 2011 Firewater album and never broke mainstream radar. That changed in April 2024 when it debuted on Billboard's streaming chart for the first time. Since then it has hovered around No. 9 on Spotify's daily U.S. most-played list, even outpacing the Zach Bryan-Lana Del Rey duet "Lies." The only older track to reach a similar spot was the Killers' "Mr. Brightside," a rare feat for a decade-old song. A 2018 placement in Yellowstone first gave the band arena-wide exposure, but the Jonas TikTok sparked a viral wave. The clip, captioned "Grown up stuff," used the track as background and has generated over one million user videos. RIAA now lists the song as triple-platinum, and younger fans are crowding Whiskey Myers shows with phones raised. Lead guitarist John Jeffers summed it up, "You never know what the fuck is gonna happen."
