Ubisoft Bids For Arkane Ahead Of December Deadline

Ubisoft wants to buy Arkane from Xbox. Bloomberg reports that Ubisoft has already submitted a bid. At least two other unnamed gaming companies are also in talks. Microsoft has even considered selling the studio back to its own management. France's Florange Law forced Xbox to search for a buyer before pulling the plug. A November thirteenth deadline was recently extended by Microsoft to December. Microsoft says it is not yet satisfied with the current proposals. If no deal goes through, a total studio closure remains on the table. Ubisoft and Arkane are both based in France. Arkane is currently working on Marvel's Blade. Ubisoft is dealing with its own revenue shortfalls and debt payments after big production delays.
