RTX 5090 Parts Shortage Delays Production

October 27, 2026 · 1 source

The RTX 5090 hasn't been discontinued, but AIB partners say they can't get the GPU and memory needed to build it. The GB202 chip and 32-GB GDDR7 bundle are unavailable, and backorders are no longer possible, said an unnamed partner. Nvidia's German branch insists the card will keep shipping, but notes the supply chain is "somewhat constrained." The RTX 5090's original MSRP was $2,000, yet it's now listed for up to $8,000 on secondary markets. A cooler maker says partners cut Q1 2027 heatsink orders sharply versus Q3 2026, and no Q2 2027 orders have arrived. With the GPU and VRAM supply in limbo, the likelihood of snagging a reasonably priced RTX 5090 is shrinking daily.
