Netflix Orders Prep Series Based On Curtis Sittenfeld Book

Netflix just gave a straight-to-series order to Prep, an adaptation of Curtis Sittenfeld's bestselling debut novel. The project comes twenty-two years after Random House published the book in January two thousand five. Nicole Taylor is writing and showrunning the half-hour drama. She previously worked on Netflix's limited series One Day. Gloria Sanchez Productions is also producing the show. A writers room opens in January. HBO previously tried to adapt the book as a comedy back in two thousand fourteen, but that version never moved forward. Netflix insists their new version is not a comedy. Since the first half of twenty twenty-three, young adult titles have pulled in over ten point four billion global views on the streamer. Sittenfeld says the twenty-two year wait was worth it.
