Disney+ Adds Channel 4 Linear in UK

Disney+ will stream the entire Channel 4 linear channel in the UK, a first for the platform. The deal includes hit shows like Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. Bella Ramsey's Maya will also launch at the start of next year. From early 2025 UK and Ireland subscribers can watch these titles day-and-date. They'll also get hundreds of hours of on-demand content such as Russell T. Davies' Tip Toe and Nicola Coughlan's Big Mood. Disney+ EMEA boss Karl Holmes says new Channel 4 shows will arrive on a regular tempo. He didn't give an exact number. Channel 4 chief Priya Dogra notes the audiences barely overlap, making the partnership complementary. Holmes adds about forty percent of Disney+ viewing in the past year came from 16-34-year-olds. The pact is broader than Disney's earlier swap with ITV and focuses on big, bold shows released day-and-date. Dogra says the deal helps Channel 4 reach more people across the UK and Ireland. More details on the partnership will roll out later this year.
